Katie once told her mother that when she grew up, she wanted to be "someone who decides what books get made and fixes the mistakes in them." Several years later, she was thrilled to learn that those really were jobs. She has a bachelor's degree in English with a minor in women's studies from Colgate University and a master's degree in publishing from The George Washington University.
